DIY Glass Spray Bottle
Did you know you shouldn’t use plastic to store your essential oil cleaner? Or to store any homemade recipes including essential oils for that matter.
Essential oils, unfortunately, can eat away at plastic. So, the recommended alternative is glass. But glass spray bottles are a pain to find. You can Google where to find them or look on Amazon, but here’s an easier idea.
Simply buy a glass bottle of vinegar at your grocery store (Perrier bottles can also work). Vinegar comes in handy as a cleaner, anyway, so it won’t go to waste. Once you empty out the vinegar, rinse out the bottle really well, and use for your next homemade cleaner!
For the spray nozzle, you can swipe one off of another spray bottle (Windex, for instance), or buy a cheapo plastic spray bottle from the dollar store and transplant the nozzle from that (again, be sure to rinse it out). You may have to experiment with the nozzles to make sure the one you choose fits properly, and you’ll probably have to cut the bottom of the tube off to fit inside your newly created spray bottle.
And yes, I know that the spray nozzle is plastic, but there’s not an easy way around that one that I know of yet. I simply replace my nozzle when I have another one available. Also, if you want to remove the old label from the bottle, here is a tip for getting all the adhesive off.
And there you go, a quick and easy glass spray bottle for your homemade essential oil recipes.
